We asked 45 people on LinkedIn and 26 of them said their email address had a password of fewer than 5 characters. 31 of them said it was something related to their name and date of birth.

What you should not do while keeping a password?

Avoid sequential letters or numbers: Avoid using sequential letters or numbers in your passwords, like 123456, qwerty, jklmn, 56789, abcdef, etc. Hackers can easily guess these passwords and gain access to your account.
Don’t use your personal information: Never use your personal information, such as your name, nickname, address, or date of birth, in your password. Hackers can easily find this information, and it makes it easier for them to guess your password.
Avoid repetition of characters: Don’t repeat characters in your password, especially if it has no meaning. This makes your password weaker and easier to guess.
Use something meaningful or pronounceable: Try to use something that has meaning or is at least pronounceable. It will help you remember your password in the future.

How should you maintain the password?

Don’t use the same password for every login. Yes, it is a tough work to maintain so many passwords, but it’s needed.
Don’t share your passwords with anyone.
Use a secured space to store your password. You should keep store them somewhere so that you can see them even when you are out of your home.
Change all your passwords once every three months.
